puente de rus history

Sitting at the right hand, our first disciples, a group of 25 winegrowers creating vibrant wines that redefined our understanding of family.

It all began when WineGod met Fran in 2019 at Vinexpo NYC. Now we’re Spain-compound-bound and dedicated to The Commissioner’s work.

Located in San Clemente of southern Spain’s La Mancha region, Bodegas Puente de Rus was formed in 1945 as a cooperative. Their wines represent tradition, staying true to local culture.

The group works a variety of soils spanning across 2,750 hectares in “Mancha Baja,” averaging 722 meters above sea level. It gets dry. It gets hot. But it survives. Diurnal range is key, varying up to 15 degrees Celsius to give the fruit reprieve, calm the sugars, let acid thrive.

They practice organic methods, but don’t have the certification. We know them, we trust them. Their wines are vegan. They’re blessed with abundance, so they’re able to produce wines that all of us can enjoy. And of course, they also have some phenomenal reserve wines. We can’t wait for you taste Bodegas Puente de Rus.

Our wine list and tech sheets coming soon! We’re a small business doing it all for the love of wine. But if you’re dying to know something specific, just write to info@thewinegod.life 💜
